Job summary

Carbon is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer on a contract basis to deliver, deploy and support a secure hosting and infrastructure platform in a defence environment. The role is primarily onsite in Portsmouth, UK with some travel across the UK for installation and deployment activities.

You will build, deploy and support enterprise infrastructure platforms, manage VMware environments, and provide 2nd/3rd line support while ensuring documentation and ITIL processes are maintained.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.
• Good working knowledge of VMware vCenter 7.0 or later.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022.
• Strong Active Directory administration experience.
• Knowledge of Dell server hardware and iDRAC management.
• Experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support within enterprise environments.
• Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Experience working within ITIL change management processes.
