Job summary

Millerbernd Manufacturing is seeking an Infrastructure (IT) Engineer to install, configure, and maintain hardware, networks, servers, and security systems to support daily operations. This onsite role will operate at Sauk Rapids or Winsted, MN, ensuring stability, reliability, and efficiency of IT systems.

Responsibilities include managing LAN, storage, and services; enhancing capacity planning and security; and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 4-year IT-related degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years in network administration, storage and server management.
• Strong IT infrastructure and security knowledge.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate clearly.
• Demonstrated project management and analytical problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, document, and maintain LAN systems; resolve hardware and software issues.
• Ensure network stability and uptime.
• Monitor usage and plan capacity upgrades; identify improvements.
• Manage company firewall and security technologies.
• Prioritize activities and manage projects to deliver on time and budget.
• Engage with SLT, front office, production leads and operators.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge informally.
• Evaluate hardware/software options for compatibility and business needs.
• Assist with external vendor interactions.

The Opportunity:

The Infrastructure (IT) Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware, network infrastructure, servers, security systems, and communication technologies. This role helps ensure the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the company's IT systems to support daily business operations. The Infrastructure Engineer also identifies opportunities for system improvements and recommends solutions to enhance performance and reliability. This is an onsite opportunity at either our Sauk Rapids or Winsted location.

Salary Range:

$89,133 - $107,584/year (Exempt)

Key Roles and Responsibilities as an Infrastructure Engineer:

• Network Management & Connectivity

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

• Install, test, document, and maintain local area network systems, resolving hardware and software issues
• Responsible for network stability and uptime
• Monitor infrastructure usage and plan for capacity upgrades, proactively identifying areas for improvement and modernization
• Manage company firewall and other technologies supporting security
• Prioritize activities and manage projects to ensure timely, on-scope, and on-budget delivery
• Effective interaction with multiple levels of the organization in supporting assignments – SLT leadership, front office and indirect staff, production leads/supervisors and shop floor operators
• Act as the highest level of technical escalation for complex infrastructure issues. Mentor junior team members informally through knowledge sharing and guidance
• Evaluates hardware and software options for compatibility, performance, and business requirements to support organizational needs
• Assist with external vendor interactions
• Stay updated on advancements in technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Maintain and manage communications solutions

Role Qualifications as an Infrastructure Engineer:

• Preferred candidates will have either a 4-year college degree in an IT-related field, or relevant work experience
• Preferred candidates will have 8+ years of relevant experience in network administration, Storage Solutions, and server management
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of IT Infrastructure and Security, including industry best practices
• Demonstrated ability to work with and influence key stakeholders and team members
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Able to effectively manage projects and additional tasks
• Strong customer service orientations
