Job Summary

The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team at Eglin AFB in sunny Florida. The Infrastructure Electrical Technician will be a certified industrial-grade journeyman electrician experienced with the planning, installation, and troubleshooting of three‑phase power distribution systems. This technician will work within the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Munitions Directorate, Ordnance Division, Energetic Materials Branch, contributing to cutting‑edge research and development for the Air Force.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certified Industrial‑grade Journeyman Electrician
• Minimum 8 years of experience
• Installation of electrical systems in hazardous industrial locations
• Ability to read and interpret building construction drawings
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance
• U.S. citizenship required for research contract eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

• Active SECRET security clearance or equivalent
• Experience with programming, installation, and troubleshooting PLC systems
• Experience with installation and troubleshooting of hydraulic lines and hydraulic controls
• Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of building‑wide vacuum systems
• Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of site‑wide compressed air and compressed air‑drying systems; experience with installing and troubleshooting pneumatic controls
• Experience performing scheduled maintenance on electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment
• Proficiency with computer‑assisted design software to plan and document new system installations
• Experience with DoD facilities
• Experience in hazardous energetic materials environments
