Veriipro in Plano, TX is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build a Kubernetes-style control plane for Hyper-V management. You will implement Go-based APIs, controllers, and reconciliation loops, and maintain VM inventory schemas.

Responsabilités

• Design a Kubernetes-style control plane for managing Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines (VMs).
• Build Go-based APIs, controllers, operators, schedulers, and reconciliation loops.
• Develop and maintain database schemas for VM inventory, cluster state, host topology, and configuration.
• Create and manage Kubernetes CRDs and controllers where applicable.
• Implement idempotent reconciliation to maintain desired vs. actual state.
• Develop REST/gRPC APIs for control plane integrations.
• Add monitoring, metrics, logging, and tracing for infra health and resource use.
• Design for high availability, concurrency, failure recovery, and safe infra ops.
• Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Platform, and SRE on scheduling, quotas, and placement policies.
• Document architecture, APIs, and runbooks.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), including goroutines, channels, interfaces, and production-grade services.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including CRDs, controllers/operators, client-go, and reconciliation patterns.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, WMI, HCS, PowerShell, and Windows Server.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL, including schema design, transactions, migrations, and query optimization.
• Experience designing distributed systems, including state reconciliation, eventual consistency, leader election, and failure recovery.
• Experience developing and consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Strong Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and debugging skills.
• Understanding of compute, storage, networking, and virtualization concepts.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building Kubernetes-style control planes, cloud infrastructure, or hypervisor management platforms.
• Experience with KubeVirt, OpenStack, or similar virtualization platforms.
• Knowledge of Hyper-V virtual switches and software-defined networking (SDN).
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell DSC.
• Understanding of Hyper-V concepts including VHD/VHDX, virtual switches, checkpoints, live migration, WMI, and Host Compute Service.
• Experience working in enterprise or regulated datacenter environments.
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure or Kubernetes projects.
