Job summary

ms consultants, inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee day-to-day field operations on projects in the Akron/Cleveland area. This role involves on-site inspection, coordination with contractors and engineers, and documenting progress in accordance with contract requirements.

Qualified candidates will have an engineering or construction management education and strong communication skills. The position offers a hybrid work model with some remote options and opportunities for travel to

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license required and willing to travel to project sites.
Ability to read and interpret project plans, contract specs, apply basic engineering principles.
Experience with state and municipal construction and materials specifications.
Experience in commercial, public works, or roadway projects.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

Perform Resident Representative duties with full-time on-site inspection for short- and long-term assignments.
Assist in administering the construction contract terms: submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, schedules.
Document construction progress with field reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders.
Maintain project documentation: permits, specs, contractor pay requests.
Act as liaison between contractors, designers, and clients to resolve issues.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies, consultants, and clients for approvals.
