Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a versatile communications and community engagement professional to help advance data center projects and influence policy through advocacy and press engagement.

You will partner with permitting and community-engagement teams, develop clear narratives, and coordinate with policy, communications, and development groups to support project progress and external messaging.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex issues to diverse audiences.
• Proven track record in crafting positive narratives for the data center industry or similar energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience supporting public meetings, events, and announcements.
• Experience managing social media messaging and campaigns in support of project initiatives.
• Media training and experience prepping senior leadership for media engagements.
• Experience in energy policy and connecting policy decisions to infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Partner with permitting and community-engagement teams to understand local concerns and support project progress.
• Support press and storytelling around community engagement projects in our data center communities.
• Help craft and scale our communication narrative around operating principles as we scale our footprint.
• Develop narratives that explain projects, energy needs, and policy positions to stakeholders.
• Connect policy, communications, and project teams to reflect development needs and messages.
