Job summary

Oran Inc. in Herndon is seeking an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain foundational cloud services that enable reliable and secure operations across the enterprise.

You will work with DevOps and security teams to provision resources, monitor health, and support automation and IaC practices, with emphasis on Kubernetes and cloud platforms. Local candidates in the DC metro area preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
• Eligibility to receive Federal Public Trust clearance
• Established residency in the US for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
• Candidates must be local to the Washington, D.C. Metro/Northern VA area – travel will not be reimbursed.
• Completed Background Investigation in accordance with Section 8.3 of your Subcontract Agreement prior to start of work.

Responsibilities

• Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud resources and infrastructure components.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and health, escalating issues as needed.
• Support environment builds, deployments, and integrations using cloud platforms, containerization, networking, storage, identity, and compute services.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement automation patterns, infrastructure‑as‑code practices, and environment consistency across development, test, staging, and production.
• Assist with incident response and root‑cause analysis, providing initial diagnostics and contributing to resolution of cloud or infrastructure‑related issues.
• Maintain configuration records, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to support cloud service integrations, access management, and environment readiness.
• Learn and apply emerging cloud technologies, engineering best practices, and enterprise standards.

CMS experience preferred. As an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer, you will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of foundational cloud and infrastructure services that enable reliable, scalable, and secure technical operations across the enterprise. This role contributes to daily operational stability while assisting in cloud‑focused engineering tasks under the guidance of senior engineers and infrastructure leads.

In this role, you will:

• Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud resources and infrastructure components across environments, ensuring compliance with established standards and security requirements.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and health, escalating issues as needed and contributing to troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure, network, and cloud service disruptions.
• Support environment builds, deployments, and integrations by applying foundational knowledge of cloud platforms, containerization, networking, storage, identity, and compute services.
• Participate in routine maintenance activities such as patching, system updates, configuration adjustments, and documenting changes according to operational procedures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to implement automation patterns, infrastructure‑as‑code practices, and environment consistency across development, test, staging, and production.
• Assist with incident response and root‑cause analysis, providing initial diagnostics and contributing to the resolution of cloud or infrastructure‑related issues.
• Maintain configuration records, runbooks, and technical documentation to ensure accurate environment tracking and operational continuity.
• Work with cross‑functional teams—including DevOps, security, application engineering, and operations—to support cloud service integrations, access management, and environment readiness.
• Learn and apply emerging cloud technologies, engineering best practices, and enterprise standards to enhance reliability and readiness for more advanced responsibilities.

Required Skills:
