Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to design, manage, and maintain a cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure and AWS. You will implement security best practices, automate routine tasks, and ensure high availability across environments.

The role requires extensive experience with Windows and Linux systems, plus enterprise storage and performance tuning. On-site work in Alabama is expected, with opportunities to optimize modern cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of Systems Administration/Engineering experience.
• 7–10 years of Windows and Linux OS configuration, automation, and management.
• Large enterprise storage experience and performance tuning / capacity management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with focus on Azure and AWS.
• Ensure security best practices and network protections across environments.
• Perform infrastructure upgrades to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Manage identity, AD, DNS, and VMware environments.

Job description

• An Infrastructure Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design, management, and maintenance of a cloud infrastructure.
• The duties also include following best practices and ensuring the security of the network.
• Should have knowledge of Azure, AWS and Azure AVS services.
• Azure Cloud AVS Cloud solutioning, maintenance and deployment
• Experience with cloud platform Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) would be nice to have.
• Performing infrastructure upgrades and updates to maximize system efficiency while minimizing downtime.
• Active Directory, DNS, VMWare, firewalls, routing
• Identity and user management solutions provided by Azure or 3rd party.

Requirements

• Desired Certifications: VMware VCP, AWS CCP, AWS CSA
• 7-10 years of experience with Windows and Linux-based operating system configuration, automation, and management.
• 5-7 years of experience with Automation scripting including PowerShell and other configuration as code tools
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Systems Administration/Engineering
• Bachelor's degree in the field of Information Technology Management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Large enterprise-level experience in storage technologies supporting multiple Operating Systems and environments.
• Proficient with Systems performance tuning, capacity management and replication.

Demonstrates expertise in cloud infrastructure design, management, and security, with a strong focus on Azure and AWS services. Proficient in automation scripting and systems administration, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
