Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and support enterprise-grade Azure solutions in a predominantly hybrid environment. You will lead IaaS/PaaS efforts, integrate with Microsoft 365 and on-prem AD, and drive governance and security required for large professional services engagements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, information systems, business administration, or related field.
10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure, systems, and/or cloud engineering experience.
5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience.
Professional services experience strongly preferred.
Proven design and support of enterprise-grade Azure in complex hybrid environments.
Expertise in Azure IaaS, PaaS, identity, networking, security, and governance.
Hands-on Azure networking and hybrid connectivity across on-prem and cloud.
Experience with Entra ID, SSO, MFA, CA, RBAC, and on-prem AD integration.
Experience implementing Azure governance and security controls (Policy, Defender, Key Vault).
IaC experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep, Terraform.
Cloud monitoring/logging and incident response (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights).
Enterprise cloud migration, optimization, and operational support.
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and support secure, scalable, highly available Azure infrastructure solutions.
Lead engineering efforts across IaaS, PaaS, hybrid cloud, identity integration, networking, monitoring, and continuity.
Build and support Azure services including VMs, VMSS, App Services, Storage, Key Vault, backups, site recovery, and gateways.
Integrate Azure services with Microsoft 365 and on-premises Active Directory.
Ensure cloud services meet compliance, governance, and audit requirements.
Troubleshoot complex incidents affecting availability, performance, authentication, networking, and connectivity.
Perform special projects and other assigned duties.

Job description

Design, deploy, and support secure, scalable, and highly available Microsoft Azure infrastructure solutions
Lead engineering efforts across IaaS, PaaS, hybrid cloud, identity integration, networking, monitoring, and business continuity
Build and support Azure services including Virtual Machines, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, App Services, Storage Accounts, Azure Files, Blob, Managed Disks, Backup, Site Recovery, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, and Key Vault
Integrate Azure services with Microsoft 365, on-premises Active Directory, and enterprise applications
Ensure cloud services align with compliance, governance, and audit requirements
Troubleshoot complex incidents involving availability, performance, authentication, networking, and application connectivity

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure, systems, and/or cloud engineering experience
5+ years of deep, hands-on Microsoft Azure engineering experience
Experience within a professional services organization is strongly preferred
Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-grade Azure infrastructure in complex, hybrid environments
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS, identity, networking, security, and governance
Hands-on experience with Azure networking and hybrid connectivity, including virtual networks, private endpoints, DNS, load balancing, application gateways, routing, and connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity administration, including SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC, PIM, and integration with on-premises Active Directory
Experience implementing Azure governance and security controls, including Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Key Vault, encryption, tagging standards, subscription management, and access reviews
Experience developing or maintaining infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep templates, Terraform, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and incident response, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and operational troubleshooting in production environments
Demonstrated experience with enterprise cloud migration, optimization, and operational support
Strong understanding of hybrid infrastructure and integration between on-premises and cloud platforms
Experience implementing security, resilience, and disaster recovery controls for cloud services
Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work independently, organize, prioritize accurately, and exercise sound judgment
Ability to handle highly confidential information
