Job summary

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects is seeking a seasoned Cost Analyst to drive project budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across client infrastructure programs. The role emphasizes collaboration with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to deliver accurate financial reporting.

The position requires strong analytical skills, MS Excel mastery, and experience with enterprise cost-control tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field; six years of equivalent experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control capabilities.
• Experience with enterprise project controls systems (SAP, Maximo, Cognos).
• Advanced MS Excel and data-analysis proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and EAC projections throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor expenditures and analyze budget performance against approved funding.
• Prepare routine cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and executive summaries.
• Support project managers with cost forecasting, contingency planning, and financial decisions.
• Evaluate project trends and risks to identify cost-saving opportunities and improvements.
• Assist in preparation and review of budget revisions and funding requests.
• Support cost documentation and governance compliance within client controls.

The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related field or six (6) years of equivalent related work experience, in addition to the minimum experience requirement, may be substituted for a degree
• Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in project cost analysis, project controls, or capital project financial management supporting utility or large infrastructure capital projects
• Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, change management, and estimate-at-completion methodologies
• Experience interpreting project financial information and communicating cost performance to project leadership
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Preferred bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Experience supporting electric transmission and substation capital programs with an EPC firm
• Experience with SAP, Maximo, Power BI, Primavera P6, Cognos, or similar enterprise project controls systems
• Understanding of earned value management principles and integrated cost and schedule reporting
• Familiarity with utility capital governance processes and financial controls
• Professional certifications such as AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP), AACE Certified Cost Technician (CCT), or other relevant project controls certifications are preferred
