Job summary

LTS is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to support a major modernization initiative within the VA health portfolio. The role emphasizes hybrid cloud, on-premise integration, and secure, scalable infrastructure aligned with federal standards.

Work with engineering, cybersecurity, and program leadership to design resilient solutions, validate AI-generated deployment guidance, and ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, and VA requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering or architecture.
Experience supporting large-scale federal IT modernization programs, preferably within VA or healthcare.
Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and compliance with federal standards.
Strong experience with hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
Experience designing enterprise infrastructure solutions involving virtualization, storage, networking, identity management, and compute environments.
Knowledge of infrastructure modernization strategies for legacy applications.
Experience with enterprise monitoring, automation, backup/recovery, and performance management.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity and compliance requirements within federal environments.
Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical systems in regulated environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead infrastructure architecture and modernization efforts for large-scale VA health systems.
Design and implement secure, scalable hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
Support modernization and migration of legacy healthcare systems (VistA/MUMPS).
Review and validate AI-generated outputs for infrastructure components and configurations to ensure accuracy and VA compliance.
Coordinate with VA stakeholders to confirm AI platform components meet federal standards.
Develop infrastructure roadmaps, reference architectures, and technical standards.
Collaborate with application, database, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps teams on modernization.
Architect solutions for high availability, disaster recovery, and performance.
Evaluate emerging technologies and tooling for modernization strategies.
Support integration across cloud, data center, network, storage, virtualization, and identity platforms.
Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust.
