Position: Infrastructure Architect

Schwarz Partners has an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Architect in Carmel, IN. The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, overseeing, and providing subject matter expertise for infrastructure projects, with a focus on security and best practices. The role requires expertise in Microsoft technologies, including design and implementation of Microsoft solutions. The architect acts as the tier 3 escalation point for helpdesk and infrastructure teams, covering areas such as physical and virtual servers, Azure ecosystem (Microsoft Entra, M365, Defender, Web Application Firewalls), networking, Dynamics365 backend, Azure applications, Microsoft Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Certificates), device management, and identity management.

Essential Job Duties:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for all infrastructure areas (excluding networking).
• Design, install, and configure internal and customer-facing services based on best practices.
• Manage and maintain Azure and Active Directory environments proactively.
• Participate in security discussions related to infrastructure.
• Mentor and cross-train team members on relevant technologies.
• Maintain documentation for technologies under your responsibility.
• Assist in hardware and software evaluations and recommendations.
• Define and document best practices, standards, and support procedures.
• Participate in change and problem management processes.
• Provide after-hours support for emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance.
• Assist with helpdesk tickets, project tasks, and collaborate with other IT teams.
• Translate technical requirements into project designs.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Challenge ideas respectfully and work towards acceptable solutions.

Required Education and Experience:

• Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Degree in an IT-related field.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Expertise in infrastructure at an architect/SME level.
• Proficiency in Microsoft on-premise and cloud technologies.
• Expertise in identity management and virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in security and networking (preferred).
• Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (preferred).
