Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Infrastructure Administrator to support enterprise physical and virtual environments on cloud and on‑prem platforms. This remote role focuses on deploying, automating, monitoring, and supporting servers and applications, while coordinating with vendors and development teams.

You will handle 24x7 support, change and incident management, backups, and security fundamentals, ensuring high availability and reliable performance for internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Scripting and automation skills (Perl, Bash, PHP, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc.).
• Basic understanding of security concepts (Active Directory, NTFS permissions, security auditing, contexts).
• Understanding of cloud storage, network, and hardware technologies.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and recommends performance improvements to ensure high availability of infrastructure.
• Serves as an escalation point for technical issues at the team level.
• Participates in deployment, maintenance, and upgrade of applications developed by different teams.

## Infrastructure AdministratorApply: Remote - USA: Full time: Posted Yesterday: R-185795**POSITION SUMMARY:** The Infrastructure Administrator will support enterprise physical and virtual environments on cloud and on prem platforms. The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for deploying, automating, monitoring, and supporting servers and applications in a cloud hosted environment. The Administrator will act as a liaison in meetings with vendors and development groups, bringing an operational perspective to the SDLC and taking away operations deliverables as needed. The Administrator will interact with internal customers supporting external customers, corporate and vendor IT staffs to provide world-class production support. In addition, this position will provide System Monitoring to detect performance issues in managed physical and virtual machines. **PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Monitors and recommends performance improvements to ensure high availability of infrastructure.* Serves as an escalation point for technical issues at the team level.* Participates in the implementation of agreed upon solutions and strategies.* Works with Storage & Virtualization Engineers to configure and troubleshoot application servers and the software running on them.* Participates in the deployment, maintenance, and upgrade process of Applications developed by different development groups and teams.* Handles ongoing maintenance e.g., service pack installations, hot fixes, software upgrades, etc.* Documents technical problems, resolutions, and processes for assigned tasks and projects.* Participates in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality.* Follows policies and procedures for change and incident management.* Stays current on industry trends and new technologies and recommends future initiatives.* Oversees administration functions such as server build outs, monitoring, patch/security updates, antivirus, backups, restores, asset management, 24X7 support, pager duty, etc.* Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.**QUALIFICATIONS:*** Knowledge of server/storage hardware and protocols (NFS, iSCSI).* Demonstrated scripting and automation skills (Perl, Bash, PHP, Puppet, Chef, Salt, etc.).* Basic understanding of security concepts. (i.e. Active Directory, NTFS permissions, security auditing, security user contexts, application layer vulnerabilities, etc.).* Understanding of cloud storage, network, and hardware technologies. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:*** 2 - 4 years of experience managing and supporting IT Infrastructure in a mid-to-large scale Enterprise Environment data center environment.**This role is primarily remote; however, candidates should be located within commuting distance of our Phoenix, AZ.
