Job summary

Phoenix Logistics LLC seeks an experienced System Administrator to support internal and remote systems, manage Windows-based servers, VMs, storage, and AD. You will troubleshoot hardware/software, maintain GFE licenses, and back up critical systems.

The role requires 3+ years IA experience, DoD 8570 certifications, and US citizenship with Top Secret eligibility. Collaboration with technical management and cross-department teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in IT or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Minimum CompTIA A+, Network+, MCP; Security+ preferred.
  • DoD 8570.01 CE certification in Windows or Linux required.
  • At least 3 years of IA/Info Assurance experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for Top Secret clearance.
  • Microsoft certifications such as MCSA or MCSE are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support Active Directory administration including adds/updates, GPOs, and forest/domain trusts.
  • Maintain a mixed OS environment and hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Manage servers, blades, storage, domain services, and user accounts.
  • Install, update and manage antivirus and security tooling on endpoints.
  • Conduct backups, snapshots, and system recovery planning.
  • Coordinate with technical management and other departments.
  • Ensure inventory and licenses for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
  • Provide user support and training as needed.

Job description

The System Administrator is a hands-on role supporting internal and remote systems. The System Admin must be able to provide technical support to users by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting problems, maintaining workstations and network performance. System admin will be responsible for creating and maintaining physical and virtual machines, the domain, server blades, storage, user accounts, and network equipment


This position is contingent upon contract award, and employment will begin upon successful award and authorization to proceed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support enterprise active directory administration (from Active Directory adds/updates to group policy management to forest level operations and domain trusts)

  • Support a mixed environment of Operating Systems and Manufactures.

  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues; installing memory.

  • Windows OS installation Repairing, updating or replacing damaged hardware

  • Responsible for maintaining and inventorying all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), to include all program specific software licenses.

  • Work closely with technical management

  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.

  • Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware.

  • Server management, specifying new servers, laptops and desktops per requirements provided

  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.

  • Managing and verifying daily backup operations with the ability to create and maintain snapshots and system wide backups.

  • Specifying new equipment needed for order

  • Training team members and delegating repetitive tasks

  • Other related duties and tasks assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associate’s degree in IT related field; preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field

  • Minimum Comp TIA A+, Network+, MCP; Preferred Comp TIA Security+

  • Valid DoD 8570.01 Computing Environment Certification in Microsoft Windows or Linux

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in Information Assurance (IA) technology or related field.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and t be able to qualify for Top Secret security clearance

  • Certification in Microsoft (eg: MCSA: Windows Server 2016, MCSE: Server Infrastructure)


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:


  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Ansible is desired

  • Possess a thorough understanding of a virtual machine setup and environment maintenance

  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service/interpersonal and complex problem solving skills

  • Windows systems with Active Directory administration experience

  • Desired experience with Windows Server, VMware, RHEL and NetApp

  • Networking experience (IPv4 and subnetting, VLANs, SMB3)

  • Hardware experience (servers, storage systems, some networking)

  • Virtualization experience (VMWare and/or Hyper-V)
