Job summary

The Infrastructure Administrator at Wills Group is responsible for the daily operation and support of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including virtualization, networking, security, and endpoint systems across HQ and retail locations.

You will monitor and maintain VMware vSphere, firewalls, storage, and endpoint management, while collaborating with the Infrastructure Manager on incident resolution, documentation, and improvements. Travel to sites in the Mid-Atlantic region is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
• 3+ years in IT with experience supporting both cloud and on-premises infrastructure
• Experience with virtualization, networking, cloud, and security technologies

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support for network deployments and infrastructure maintenance
• Install and support POS and back-office systems at retail locations
• Monitor and manage virtualization, storage, and backup environments
• Monitor security and surveillance systems and coordinate with cybersecurity teams
• Own support issues from identification to resolution and communicate with stakeholders

Job Purpose and Function

The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the daily administration and support of the organization's cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including virtualization, networking, security, and endpoint systems. This role ensures reliable performance and timely resolution of infrastructure issues across the environment, including HQ and retail store locations, working under the direction of the Infrastructure Manager.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Cloud & Infrastructure Support

• Support and administer cloud and hybrid infrastructure, with emphasis on Microsoft Azure and virtualization
• Administer vSphere virtualization, monitoring performance and availability across virtual machines
• Monitor Palo Alto Networks firewalls to help ensure security policies and traffic inspection remain aligned with cybersecurity standards
• Support and maintain network environments using Cybera firewall ,Meraki and UniFi solutions
• Monitor storage and backup systems, including Rubrik and other hybrid solutions, and elevate issues as needed
• Support virtualization for field services, including NCR PXE boot and endpoint deployments

Security & Surveillance Systems

• Support Verkada connectivity for physical security systems, including access control and camera infrastructure
• Collaborate with the cybersecurity team on Zscaler and other endpoint protection tools

Support Services

• Track, escal…?
• Follow established troubleshooting and remediation procedures; flag gaps or improvement opportunities to the Infrastructure Manager
• Monitor SLA metrics and report on trends

Installations and Site Support

• Provide onsite and remote support for network deployments and infrastructure maintenance
• Install and support POS and back-office systems at retail locations
• Support hardware refresh projects as directed by the Infrastructure Manager
• Travel as needed to support physical installations and troubleshooting

Technical Support

• Own support issues from identification to resolution, communicating with stakeholders throughout
• Prioritize, diagnose, and resolve technical requests in a timely and professional manner
• Participate in root cause analysis and document lessons learned to help prevent recurrence
• Provide onboarding support for new employees and contractors

Documentation & Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate documentation for systems, processes, and configurations
• Contribute to standard operating procedures and knowledge base content
• Maintain asset inventory and software compliance records

Hardware and Software Support

• Support firmware and software updates across infrastructure
• Troubleshoot networking components (firewalls, switches, access points)
• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, and GPOs
• Support endpoint management through Microsoft Intune and related tools
• Other duties as assigned by the Infrastructure Manager

What We're Looking For

• Associate's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
• 3+ years in IT with experience supporting both cloud and on-premises infrastructure
• Working knowledge of:

• Virtualization (vSphere/VMware, PXE booting, hypervisors)
• Networking (Meraki, UniFi, Palo Alto, Zscaler)
• Cloud (Microsoft Azure)
• Security and surveillance (Verkada)
• Disaster recovery tools (Zerto, Rubrik)
• Endpoint and server administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, Intune)

• Experience with ticketing systems and service lifecycle management

Availability and Travel

• Occasional travel including overnight stays for field support, training, and conferences

• This role will require travel to HQ and retail locations located in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina
