Job summary

Teledyne Imaging Sensors is seeking a hands-on MBE Growth Production Engineer for the Infrared Materials Group on the second shift (~11:00am-7:00pm). You will own MBE growth and wafer characterization for HgCdTe detectors used in high-performance infrared focal plane arrays.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in III-V or II-VI MBE growth, production-execution experience, and strong skills in device-performance correlation and lab maintenance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise with MBE growth of semiconductors.
• Experience in MBE tool maintenance/repair in the lab.
• Experience in semiconductor material characterization (structural, electrical, optical).
• Background in opto-electronic semiconductor devices, optics, electronics, software, cryogenics, radiometric, modelling, test and analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform MBE growth and characterization of HgCdTe wafers for IR focal plane arrays.
• Own MBE tool use planning, maintenance and repair with the technical team.
• Design growth structures and write growth recipes for improved yield.
• Characterize wafers post-growth and correlate results with device performance.
• Innovate growth and characterization techniques for continual process improvements.
