Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to craft and implement sourcing strategies for a services category and collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to drive efficiencies and reduce costs. You’ll develop mechanisms to hold suppliers accountable and lead negotiations using data-driven insights.

The role requires strategic thinking, global perspective, and strong analytical skills, with opportunities to shape major infrastructure procurement decisions for AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations experience.
• 5+ years of strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, and financial analysis.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python.

Responsibilities

• Manage a category within the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) domains.
• Achieve cost savings through bidding and negotiations.
• Plan and execute effective negotiation strategies with vendors.
• Analyze category data and metrics to drive procurement category strategies.
• Understand trends in customers’ needs across categories and regions to influence priorities.
• Build strong relationships with customers and ensure satisfaction.
• Lead supplier selection across categories, internal teams, and regions.
• Lead business reviews to discuss best practices and strengthen supplier partnerships.
• Provide support throughout contracting and post‑execution management.
