Job summary

Amazon Data Services in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an InfraDelivery Install Technician to move and install large enterprise equipment, install fiber and copper cabling, and ensure safety during cabling and rack installation.

You will follow established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities, while using material-handling tools and traveling as needed to keep the network running.

Qualifications

  • 18+ months in data center or critical environment technical roles.

Overview

Transform network infrastructure by joining our dynamic team at Amazon Data Services. You will develop innovative solutions that drive network stability and scalability, creating automated systems that power global technological advancement. InfraDelivery Install Technicians collaborate with cross‑functional teams, troubleshoot complex technical scenarios, and implement strategic solutions that keep our network running seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Move and install large enterprise equipment.
  • Install fiber and copper cabling; patch cabling between equipment.
  • Ensure safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation.
  • Follow established hardware installation procedures and conduct break‑fix activities.
  • Use material‑handling tools and equipment safely.
  • Travel within and outside of the regional work area as required.
Physical & Travel Requirements
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds; participation in group lifts of 41+ lbs.
  • Work in 24/7 environments with primary responder rotation; provide after‑hours support as needed.
  • Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
  • Travel to or commute between data center locations as needed; travel may be over 50 miles.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
  • At least 18 months of experience in data center or critical environment technical roles.
  • Experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, OTDR, etc.).
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field.
  • Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA).
  • Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.
