Job summary

Alt is building AI-native engineering infrastructure to support its real-time, scalable platform. As the Infra Engineer, you will own the AWS footprint, drive reproducible environments for engineers and AI agents, and improve staging and CI/CD pipelines to reduce production risk.

You will lead observability efforts with Datadog, Sentry, and Posthog, mentor engineers, and define the infrastructure roadmap in a remote-first environment that prioritizes cost awareness and reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of infrastructure, platform, or SRE experience with deep AWS expertise (ECS, RDS/Aurora, EC2, ALB, IAM, CloudFormation or Terraform)
• Proven track record owning and improving CI/CD pipelines, deployment infrastructure, and developer tooling at a growing company
• Experience building or managing non-production environments: staging, ephemeral environments, seed data systems, or similar
• Strong opinions on observability with instrumented systems, dashboards, and incident response
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including documentation and feedback
• Bonus: Cost optimization experience at scale

Responsibilities

• Own cloud infrastructure end-to-end: manage AWS footprint including ECS, RDS/Aurora, EC2, S3, SQS, ALB and more
• Build reproducible environments for each engineer and AI agents, including per-branch services, seed data and auto-teardown
• Fix staging environments to be reliable and representative for testing
• Bring infrastructure-as-code under control, fix drift, and automate CI/CD
• Own observability and incident response with Datadog, Sentry, and Posthog across the stack
• Be a multiplier by mentoring and setting the standard for infrastructure practices
