Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing in the United States seeks an entry‑level engineer to help advance infotainment hardware and software. This role focuses on testing, validation, and collaboration with suppliers to ensure product quality across configurations.

You will document results, develop specifications, analyze data, and contribute to improving and innovating system components. A 4‑year degree in Electrical or Electronics or Systems Engineering and up to 2 years of related experience are

• 0–2 years of related experience preferred.
• Willingness to work on-site in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on hardware and software testing for infotainment components.
• Coordinate with suppliers to align components with maturation schedules.
• Write reports and technical documents to record development activities.
• Capture requirements and write specifications for system components.
• Analyze test data to predict performance and guide design decisions.
• Communicate development progress and risks to stakeholders.

Job Purpose

This position will support the development of hardware and software technologies into our vehicles to enhance comfort, safety, and user experience towards creating a top-class infotainment platform with a focus on C.A.S.E. (Connected Autonomous Shared Electrification) and Quality.

Key Accountabilities

Electrical Hardware and Software Testing

• Perform actual hands-on performance testing that may include developing unique requirements on system components and vehicle testing to guarantee product acceptance.
• Support maturation testing to cover different configurations of components to ensure all variations work correctly.
  
  

Supplier Management

• Direct the Honda selected suppliers to design and manage the component to maturation schedule requirements.
  
  

Documentation

• Write clear and concise reports, presentations and/or technical documents to make a record of the development activities, communicating directly with Technical Experts.
  
  

Requirements Capture And Specification Development

• Recognize and specify critical functional (hardware, software & communication) requirements for infotainment system components to match customer demands.
• Develop, write, and issue specification requirements for system components.
  
  

Analysis

• Analyze & interpret test results, predict performance/failure and provide required product/design data.
  
  

Project Management

• Effectively communicate the development schedule and report status of component functions to different company areas/departments.
  
  

Strategic Planning

• Research and influence the future path and trends of infotainment system architecture, features/functions, and efficient development methods.
  
  

Improvement & Innovation

• Propose, develop, and justify any new functions (hardware, electrical, software, HMI, etc.) to meet the market requirements
  
  

Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

• 4-yr degree of BSc in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Systems Engineering
• 0-2 years of related experience is desired.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, Vehicle testing, crouching, bending, stooping, Lift/Carry 50lbs, Pushes/Pulls.
• Exposure to: Flammable gases, Compressed gases, Extreme Temperatures, Radio Frequencies, Drive vehicles, Color vision.
