Job summary

Athena is seeking a Head of InfoSec Operations to lead day-to-day cybersecurity operations, incident response, threat detection, vulnerability management, and client-facing security assurance. The role bridges security strategy and hands-on execution, working with IT, Engineering, DevOps, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Customer Success to protect clients and data.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in security, leadership in SOC or security management, and a track record of measurable security

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related fields.
• 3-5+ years in a dedicated security operations leadership or security management role.
• Strong hands-on experience with incident response and security monitoring.
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience creating security metrics, dashboards, and remediation tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead security operations, incident response, and security monitoring.
• Serve as incident commander for major cybersecurity incidents and post‑incident reviews.
• Own vulnerability management, remediation tracking, and reporting.
• Evaluate and optimize security tooling (SIEM, EDR, SOAR, XDR) and architecture.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to address client security expectations and vendor risk.
