Job summary

Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director/Director Information Security to lead threat management, incident response, and vulnerability management. This hands-on role directs the cybersecurity team, engages with MSPs, and advances the Information Security Program.

The position is based at our New York City HQ with a three‑day on-site requirement weekly, non-remote consideration, and a focus on rapid response to high‑priority incidents while maintaining security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive information security experience including 3+ years leading security operations or incident response
• Hands-on proficiency with SIEM, EDR/endpoint security, email security, and vulnerability management tooling
• Experience with network, cloud and SaaS security (AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365)
• Experience as incident commander and with MSP/MSSP management
• Aware of security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001) and audits

Responsibilities

• Lead security monitoring across MSP, SIEM, IDS/IPS and tune detections
• Act as incident lead for significant security events and lead tabletop exercises
• Oversee vulnerability management and risk-based remediation
• Manage third-party risk programs and vendor performance
• Develop security metrics and executive reporting
• Mentor and develop cybersecurity team members
