Job Overview

Incumbent will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment to ensure the holistic development of each student and staff member through cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic experience. Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission, which is to provide high‑quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well‑being.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs that support cultural, social, spiritual, physical and academic growth of students and staff.
• Maintain a safe learning environment that aligns with BIE policies and standards.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff and community members to promote cultural and economic well‑being.

Qualifications

• Must meet the qualification requirements contained in the BIE Job Category Standard.
• Experience level 02 – 60 college semester hours or associate degree in a related field plus one year of related experience; or high school/GED and three years related experience.
• Experience level 03 – 60 college semester hours or associate degree in a related field plus two years related experience; or high school/GED and five years related experience.
• For an Information Technology Technician at the 02 level, practical knowledge of operating systems used by the education line office/school serviced is required.
• For an Information Technology Technician at the 03 level, equivalent knowledge as level 02 or GS‑05 or above is required.
• Physical requirement: normal physical activity. Must have good distance vision in one eye and be able to read material sized as typewritten characters; glasses permitted. Ability to hear conversational voice with or without hearing aid is required. Amputation is not disqualifying if functional with suitable prosthesis. Must possess emotional and mental stability.
