Job description

Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission, which is to provide high‑quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well‑being. Education and Experience Requirements

• Level02: Associate Degree or 60 college semester hours in a related field and one year of related experience; or High School or GED and three years related experience.
• Level03: Associate Degree or 60 college semester hours in a related field and two years related experience; or High School or GED diploma and five years related experience.

Related Experience Requirements

• For Level02 Business Technician: lower‑level work equivalent to Level01 or GS‑03, any of the following areas: bookkeeper, budget clerk, financial clerk, purchasing clerk, human resources clerk, or other similar clerical and administrative support functions.
• For Level03 Business Technician: experience in two or more different administrative areas (e.g., human resources assistant, accounting technician, or purchasing agent) at a level equivalent to CE/CY‑02 or GS‑05 for a minimum of one year each.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Good distant vision and ability to read printed material without strain; glasses permitted.
• Ability to hear conversational voice, with or without hearing aid.
• Amputation of arm, hand, leg, or foot does not disqualify an applicant, though prosthesis may be required.
• Applicants must have mental and emotional stability.
• Normal physical activity with work, field travel, and attendance at meetings and conferences from the duty station.
