Role Overview

Incumbent will support the Bureau of Indian Education’s mission, which is to provide high quality education opportunities from early childhood through life while considering a tribe’s need for cultural and economic well-being.

Qualifications

• Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the BIE Job Category Standard.

Education and Experience

• LEVEL 02: Associate degree OR 60 college semester hours RELATED field and (1) year RELATED experience.
• LEVEL 02: High School or GED Diploma and (5) years RELATED experience.
• Related Experience: Includes lower-level work such as that equivalent to a level 01 or GS-03 level of difficulty in a technical area. Representative technical areas could include bookkeeper, budget clerk, financial clerk, purchasing clerk, human resources clerk, or other similar clerical and administrative support functions.
• LEVLEL 03: Associate degree or 60 college semester hours RELATED field and (2) years RELATED experience.
• LEVLEL 03: High School or GED Diploma and (5) years RELATED experience.
• Related Experience: Should be in two or more different administrative areas (e.g. human resource assistant, accounting technician or purchasing agent) at a level equivalent to CE/CY-02 or GS-05 for a minimum of one year in each area.

Physical Requirements

• Good vision and ability to read printed material the size of typewritten characters.
• Ability to hear the conversational voice with/without a hearing aid.
• MUST have mental and emotional stability.
