Job Title: Endpoint Support Technician (Windows 11 Lifecycle Support)

Contract Type: 12-month contract (20 hours/week, with flexibility)

Overview:

Our client is seeking five (5) experienced Endpoint Support Technicians to assist with daily operational IT support and the upcoming Windows 11 Lifecycle Deployment project. These individuals will work closely with the IT Platform Services team to provide high-level technical assistance across multiple office locations in Sacramento.

This is a part-time, onsite role averaging 20 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 40 hours per week through June 30, 2025, followed by 20 hours/week starting July 1, 2025. Ideal candidates will have experience with Windows OS upgrades, hardware lifecycle replacements, and ServiceNow ticketing systems, along with a customer-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for the Windows 11 Lifecycle project.
  • Perform lifecycle replacement of desktops, laptops, and related peripherals.
  • Conduct software and user data inventory services.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on Windows-based systems.
  • Support and maintain AV/conference room equipment and committee/board meetings.
  • Utilize the ServiceNow ticketing system to manage and complete assigned tasks.
  • Travel occasionally between SMUD office locations using personal vehicle.
  • Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within the IT team.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Ability to deliver functional and fully operational technical support.
  • Physically capable of performing hands-on duties (lifting, transporting equipment).
  • Available to work onsite with minimal supervision.
  • May be required to pass a medical exam and Fitness for Duty screening.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in OS and computer hardware lifecycle replacement.
  • Familiarity with Windows 11, ServiceNow, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities for desktop hardware and peripherals.
  • Experience supporting conference and AV setups for meetings.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification preferred.
