The IT Support Specialist I supports the client’s technology initiatives, goals, and objectives. This position’s primary responsibility is to provide Level I technology support to the PC Help Desk for internal customers. This position also has responsibilities for supporting technology solutions for employees. Responsibilities include devices such as PC systems, and mobile systems, as well as end-user software including banking-specific software and the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of the same.
Assures compliance with all policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for initial response and triage of employee submitted tickets.
- Provides Level I support to internal customers, supports business systems and provides additional technical knowledge where applicable.
- Supports employees by maintaining all end-user devices. This includes timely OS updates, application software updates, as well as endpoint security on the devices.
- Works with any internal employees, resolving configuration, application, and connectivity issues; printing problems; performs necessary diagnostics, and coordinates any third-party vendor contacts for repair.
- Provides updates for all production inventories of end-user equipment. This includes tracking equipment life cycle, equipment repairs (directly or indirectly), and configuration compliance.
- Deploys systems for all employees, including configuring memory, network components, docking stations and peripherals. Installs PC software, configures software according to standards, and adds customized directories and files. Assists with testing all systems, deliver systems to client work areas, sets up and connects systems to the network as needed, including ensuring proper functionality. Provides user orientation with regard to system training, system configuration, and printing options.
- Accurately tracks installations, provides production reporting, activity reporting, and inventory reporting, including service level reporting, and maintain PC Help Desk support tickets as needed, for initial requests.
- Maintains current technology knowledge and collaborates effectively with other departments.
- Assists with executing pilot tests for new technology.
- Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in information technology, computer science or another computer-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in supporting PC technology in a corporate environment.
- Prior experience working with banking systems is preferred.
- Working knowledge of system support procedures is required.
- Knowledge of function and setup of various equipment: PCs, network interface cards, printers, and LAN is required.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Windows operating systems and a basic understanding of proper configuration.
- Working knowledge of PC system tools: Endpoint security & system maintenance.
- Working knowledge of desktop networking.
- Working knowledge of Office products and O365.
- Must possess good communication (oral and written) skills.
- Demonstrates an ability to convey information clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization, in a manner consistent with the technical level of the audience.
- Must relate well to internal and external customers and expresses self well with others.
- Show aptitude of analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, generate alternative solutions, and make timely and sound decisions.

- A+ and MCP preferred.
- Ability to travel to bank sites to perform installations, support, and/or training as necessary.
