Job summary

Passkey Technology, an established MSP serving the Twin Cities since 1991, seeks an IT Support Engineer – Managed Services. This hands-on role covers Microsoft 365, cloud, cybersecurity, networking and traditional infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune and Defender.

You’ll work directly with clients, troubleshoot across Windows, servers and networks, and participate in onboarding with a mix of in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on IT support, systems administration or engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field preferred; relevant technical or trade school education valued.
• MSP experience strongly preferred
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Entra ID, Conditional Access and Intune
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy
• Solid networking and firewall experience
• Familiarity with virtualization such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Understanding of cybersecurity, EDR/MDR, MFA and security best practices
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Comfortable working directly with clients and making technical recommendations
• Able to work independently in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities

Responsibilities

• Help migrate clients from Active Directory and traditional servers to Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint and OneDrive
• Work with Microsoft Defender, endpoint security, identity security and related cybersecurity tools
• Assist with DLP, information protection and cloud application discovery
• Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs and virtualization
• Support Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy
• Participate in Microsoft 365, infrastructure, cybersecurity and cloud projects
• Work directly with clients to understand needs, explain options and recommend solutions
• Assist with support tickets when needed — everyone on our team helps support our clients

IT Support Engineer – Managed Services (MSP)

Work Arrangement: Primarily in-office with work-from-home flexibility. New employees should expect to spend more time in the office during onboarding and while learning our clients, systems and processes. Our ongoing expectation is a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Salary: $70,000–$85,000 depending on experience, qualifications and certifications

Passkey Technology is a well-established MSP serving businesses throughout the Twin Cities since 1991. We provide IT support, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud and consulting services.

This is a hands-on role covering support, projects, cloud, cybersecurity, networking and traditional infrastructure. We especially need someone who understands Microsoft 365 beyond basic administration, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, MDM/MAM, Microsoft Defender and security policies.

What We're Looking For

• 2- or 4-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field preferred; relevant technical or trade school education is equally valued.

Experience with RMM, PSA and MSP tools such as Datto RMM, Autotask, IT Glue, Auvik, Huntress, SentinelOne, Petra, Avanan, SaaS Alerts and similar platforms preferred.

AI & Emerging Technology

Our clients are increasingly asking about Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and other AI tools. We're not looking for an AI developer, but experience with AI tools, governance, automation or simple agents/workflows is a plus.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who is curious and willing to learn as these technologies evolve.
