Job summary

Civicworks is seeking an Information Technology Supervisor to lead IT staff and oversee technology services for the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS). The role centers on network support, educational technology platforms, cybersecurity, device management, and coordination with school admins and state personnel.

Based in New Haven County, the full-time, in-office position includes occasional Hartford meetings and collaboration with western Connecticut locations.

Qualifications

• Nine years of IT operations, programming, or IT-related support experience.
• At least one year performing advanced technical duties or as a working supervisor in network design and implementation.
• Knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, and programming principles.
• Supervisory ability and strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with network protocols, system security, disaster recovery, and data communications.

Job description

The Information Technology Supervisor will supervise IT staff and oversee technology services supporting Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) schools and administrative operations, with focus on western Connecticut locations. The role encompasses network and end-user support, educational technology platforms, cybersecurity, device management, and coordination with school administrators, educators, and state personnel. This is a full-time, in-office position in New Haven County with occasional meetings in Hartford, working Monday–Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Key qualifications

• Nine (9) years of experience in information technology operations, programming, systems/software development, or IT-related support
• One (1) year performing advanced technical level duties or as a working supervisor in network design, configuration, and implementation
• Knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, and computer programming principles
• Supervisory ability and considerable interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Experience with network protocols, system security, disaster recovery, and data communications
