This position involves limited travel (approximately 5%) primarily to Richmond, CA. In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027. Job Description And Duties

The incumbent works under the general direction of the Information Technology Manger I of the DevOps Section 1. The Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) provides leadership and technical expertise for enterprise cloud-based services. The ITS II independently works on assignments and performs a wide variety of tasks requiring innovative planning and problem solving. The ITS II provides management with development and support in enterprise strategy, policy, adoption, architecture, and maintenance of enterprise-scale solutions, accounting for all aspects of mission-critical products, systems, and applications through their full lifecycle. The ITS II routinely conducts customer outreach and service support for a large volume of public health stakeholders. The ITS II works as a systems engineer and software engineer teams leader on enterprise-scale systems assignments.
