Job summary

RecruitAbility, a trusted partner for global organizations, seeks an IT Procurement & Contract Specialist to lead technology purchasing, licensing, vendor management, and contract compliance. This role emphasizes strategic negotiation, spend visibility, and a strong understanding of enterprise hardware and software environments.

The ideal candidate will manage software licensing, supplier relationships, and capital expenditures, while ensuring adherence to ISO 27001 and internal procurement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Experience with software negotiation and technology contract management.
  • Strong working knowledge of computing hardware, software, and enterprise technology environments.
  • Experience with software licensing, including open-source software agreements.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including functions, pivot tables, and charting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, contracts, purchasing activities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions and contract details with technology vendors and suppliers.
  • Research hardware, software, and technology service requirements across the organization and identify solutions that provide the optimal balance of price, quality, delivery, and vendor support.
  • Manage contracts and commercial relationships for IT suppliers and vendors, including supplier risk management.
  • Monitor supplier performance and work with vendors to resolve service, delivery, quality, and contractual issues.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and recommend or implement supplier changes when appropriate.
  • Create, track, and submit purchase orders and purchase requisitions.
  • Research, request, and process technology-related capital expenditures.
  • Track technology orders through fulfillment and approve invoices for payment.
  • Maintain records of yearly maintenance and service agreements.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of software, services, and other technology assets.
  • Conduct periodic audits and other reviews to ensure inventory accuracy, compliance, and proper utilization.
  • Review software licensing agreements, vendor terms, and conditions of use.
  • Maintain documentation related to software licensing and technology procurement.
  • Develop, document, and maintain IT procurement procedures, policies, and processes.
  • Ensure procurement and vendor-management activities support ISO 27001 and other applicable compliance requirements.
  • Assist IT leadership with quarterly budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Support enterprise technology purchasing and vendor-management initiatives globally.

Our client is a well-established global organization with a sophisticated technology environment supporting business operations across multiple locations. The company is seeking an IT Procurement & Contract Specialist to oversee the purchasing, licensing, vendor management, and contractual requirements associated with its technology infrastructure and services.

Position Summary

The IT Procurement & Contract Specialist is responsible for forecasting, planning, researching, negotiating, and procuring technical inventory and services related to hardware, software, and technology services.

This role will manage vendor and supplier relationships, software licensing, maintenance and service agreements, technology contracts, purchase requisitions, and capital expenditures. The position will also maintain accurate technology inventories, support compliance requirements, and assist IT leadership with quarterly budgeting activities.

The successful candidate will combine strong IT procurement, contract negotiation, software licensing, vendor management, and organizational skills with a solid understanding of enterprise hardware and software environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement effective procedures and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement.
  • Experience managing enterprise cloud services, particularly AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • CSAM, CPSM, or similar technology procurement/supply-chain certification.
  • Experience with IT asset management, software asset management, or technology inventory management.
  • Experience supporting ISO 27001 or similar information-security compliance programs.
  • Experience managing technology vendors and contracts within a global organization.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technology procurement professional who understands both the commercial and technical sides of IT. They should be comfortable negotiating software and service agreements, managing vendors, analyzing purchasing requirements, tracking technology assets, and partnering with IT leadership on budgeting and strategic procurement decisions.
