Job summary

Confidential in Shelton, CT seeks a Sr. Analyst, IT Procurement to lead sourcing across technology and indirect spend.

You will manage RFx events, negotiate terms, and guide the contract lifecycle from sourcing to renewal, partnering with Technology, Legal, and Procurement leadership to drive savings and compliance. Responsibilities include spend analysis, supplier performance tracking, and drafting or redlining vendor agreements and statements of work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract negotiation, or related field.
  • Experience independently negotiating and closing lower-dollar or less-complex vendor agreements.
  • Previous IT or technology procurement experience is required.
  • Experience leading RFx events (RFPs/RFIs).
  • Experience drafting and redlining standard contracts and statements of work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technology and indirect sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification through supplier selection and award.
  • Develop and manage RFP/RFI events, including bid packages, evaluation criteria, communications, and award recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, service levels, and other contract provisions with vendors.
  • Draft, review, and redline vendor agreements, SOWs, amendments, and related documents.
  • Coordinate with Legal on nonstandard or high-risk terms and issues.
  • Monitor vendor performance with KPIs, SLAs, and license compliance.
  • Conduct spend analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities.
  • Manage multiple sourcing events and contracts with accurate documentation.

Job description

The Sr. Analyst, IT Procurement is responsible for leading sourcing and procurement activities across assigned technology and indirect spend categories. This role manages competitive sourcing events, negotiates commercial terms directly with vendors, and supports the full contract lifecycle from sourcing through execution and renewal. The position also partners closely with Technology, Legal, Procurement leadership, and suppliers to drive cost savings, improve vendor performance, and ensure contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead sourcing initiatives for technology and indirect categories from opportunity identification through supplier selection and award.
  • Develop and manage RFP/RFI events, including bid packages, evaluation criteria, supplier communications, comparative analysis, and award recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels, and other contractual provisions directly with vendors.
  • Draft, review, and redline standard vendor agreements, statements of work, amendments, and related commercial documents.
  • Partner with Legal on nonstandard, higher-risk, or more complex contractual terms and issues.
  • Coordinate between Technology stakeholders, Procurement, Legal, and vendors throughout the sourcing and contracting process.
  • Conduct market research, spend analysis, and benchmarking to identify cost savings and sourcing opportunities.
  • Track and report vendor performance, including KPIs, SLAs, service quality, and contractual commitments.
  • Monitor software license compliance, usage, entitlements, contract renewals, expiration dates, and vendor certification requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for spend consolidation, standardization, demand management, and improved supplier performance.
  • Prepare negotiation strategies, contract updates, sourcing recommendations, and management presentations.
  • Manage multiple sourcing events, negotiations, and contracts simultaneously while maintaining accurate documentation and timelines.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, purchasing, contract negotiation, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience independently negotiating and closing lower-dollar or less-complex vendor agreements.
  • Previous experience with IT or technology procurement categories is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting RFx events, including RFPs and RFIs.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and redlining standard commercial contracts, statements of work, and amendments.
  • Working knowledge of the procurement lifecycle from sourcing strategy through contract execution and renewal.
  • Experience interpreting software licensing, maintenance, professional services, and technology vendor agreements.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering measurable cost savings, commercial improvements, or service-level enhancements.
Special Requirements
  • No specific professional certification is required; procurement or sourcing certifications are preferred.
  • Must be comfortable negotiating directly with vendors and making independent commercial decisions within established authority.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment regarding when to independently resolve issues and when to elevate matters to senior Procurement leadership or Legal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling vendor pricing, contracts, negotiations, and other sensitive business information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong strategic sourcing and procurement knowledge, including RFx development and execution.
  • Strong contract negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and service levels.
  • Ability to draft and redline standard vendor agreements and related commercial documents.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including spend analysis, benchmarking, bid comparison, and savings analysis.
  • Knowledge of technology procurement categories, including software, IT services, licensing, maintenance, and vendor services.
  • Understanding of vendor performance management, SLA/KPI measurement, and license compliance.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with procurement technology, including contract lifecycle management (CLM), e-sourcing, and spend analytics platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex commercial and contractual matters in clear business terms.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships with Technology, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and vendors.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, negotiations, contracts, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional environment.
Additional Desired Characteristics
  • Procurement or sourcing certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or similar.
  • Experience working in a large, complex corporate or technology environment.
  • Experience managing software licensing or technology services spend.
  • Experience with procurement transformation, category management, or spend optimization initiatives.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify opportunities beyond basic price reductions.
  • Demonstrated interest in developing toward a Category Manager, Sourcing Manager, or Procurement leadership role.
  • Coachable, results-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a hands-on procurement environment.
  • Primarily a professional corporate office environment within the regional area.
  • Hybrid or flexible work arrangements may be available based on organizational requirements and business needs.
  • Regular interaction with internal stakeholders, vendors, Procurement leadership, and Legal teams.
  • Occasional travel may be required for supplier meetings, business meetings, or other organizational needs.
  • The role may require flexibility to support sourcing events, negotiations, contract deadlines, and other time-sensitive procurement activities.
