Position Summary
The IT Manager is the company’s hands-on technology leader and primary point of accountability for IT operations across multiple sites. This role combines strategic planning with day-to-day execution and is responsible for secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology services that support manufacturing, engineering, finance, supply chain, people operations, and executive leadership.
The position leads a small internal IT team and external partners while remaining technically engaged. The successful candidate will own Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, networks, endpoints, business systems, ERP/MES technology, IT governance, vendor relationships, budgets, and the full employee technology lifecycle.
The role will also partner with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement technology improvements, maintain IT assets, and support employee onboarding and offboarding.

IT Leadership and Service Delivery
- Act as the technology leader and primary escalation point for company-wide IT matters across Chandler, Atlanta, and remote users.
- Lead, coach, and develop IT staff; set priorities, monitor service levels, and ensure timely ownership of helpdesk requests and operational issues.
- Partner with executive and department leaders to evaluate and implement technology projects.
Microsoft 365, Identity and Collaboration
- Administer and govern Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Defender, licensing, roles, permissions, retention, and external sharing.
- Manage employee lifecycle, including account provisioning, access changes, device assignment, MFA, data preservation, and secure offboarding.
- Maintain collaboration architecture, permission standards, document repositories, and user guidance for secure use of company information.
Cybersecurity, Risk and Compliance
- Own the cybersecurity program, security roadmap, and day-to-day security operations, including endpoint protection, email security, MFA, conditional access, vulnerability management, backups, network security, data protection, and access controls.
- Develop and maintain IT policies, SOPs, controls, evidence, and remediation plans that support audits, customer requirements, and company compliance obligations.
- Coordinate security awareness, phishing prevention, incident response, risk reviews, and third-party security activities.
- Apply least privilege, separation of duties, change control, and documented approval practices across systems.
Infrastructure and Site Technology
- Own the availability, performance, security, and lifecycle of networks, wireless, firewalls, switching, internet connectivity, servers, endpoints, printers, conference rooms, cameras, access control integrations, and related site technology.
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, office and manufacturing buildouts, site expansions, refresh projects, and business continuity improvements.
- Monitor capacity, reliability, backups, warranties, and support coverage; coordinate troubleshooting and escalation with vendors when needed.
ERP, MES and Business Systems
- Provide technology leadership for Epicor Kinetic ERP, MES, DocStar/ECM, reporting, integrations, environments, security, access, and vendor coordination.
- Lead cross-functional implementation and improvement efforts.
- Maintain appropriate system administration, change control, documentation, and support ownership for other critical business applications.
Assets, Endpoints and Employee Technology
- Own hardware and software lifecycle management, asset inventory accuracy, standards, purchasing, deployment, maintenance, recovery, and disposal.
- Maintain a multi-year device refresh plan and use inventory, warranty, endpoint-management, and budget data to guide replacement decisions.
- Ensure new hires, transfers, and departing employees receive timely and secure technology support, including mobile access, authentication, building access coordination, and application provisioning.
Vendors, Contracts and Budget
- Develop and manage the IT operating and capital budgets, forecasts, renewals, purchase requests, licensing, and cost optimization activities.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for managed service providers, consultants, carriers, software vendors, and hardware partners; hold partners accountable for delivery, security, cost, and documentation.
Automation, Data and AI Enablement
- Identify and implement automation and self-service opportunities using Microsoft Power Platform, scripting, APIs, and other approved tools.
- Enable responsible use of Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI services by establishing access, licensing, governance, security boundaries, user guidance, and practical use cases.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Progressive experience leading IT operations in a small or mid-sized organization where the manager is expected to be both strategic and hands-on.
- Strong administration and governance experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Microsoft security tools.
- Demonstrated experience with cybersecurity operations, identity and access management, endpoint security, backups, incident response, risk management, and policy development.
- Solid working knowledge of enterprise networking, wireless, firewalls, switching, internet connectivity, Windows endpoints, servers, and cloud services.
- Experience leading ERP, MES, ECM, or other cross-functional business-system implementations and support, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with IT asset management, lifecycle planning, procurement, licensing, vendor management, contracts, and budgeting.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell, SQL, reporting, APIs, workflow automation, or the ability to direct and validate this work.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to explain technical risk, cost, and tradeoffs in clear language to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Clear communication, documentation, prioritization, and problem-solving skills with a practical, company-wide mindset.
- Ability to work independently, identify gaps, seek outside expertise when appropriate, and remain effective in a fast-changing environment.

- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and install IT equipment.
- Ability to work in office, server/IT, and operational environments as required.
- Ability to safely use ladders or other equipment when installing or troubleshooting technology infrastructure, as applicable.
