Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the IT team while handling complex troubleshooting and initiatives.
  • Oversee reliability, performance, and security of the technology environment.
  • Drive cybersecurity initiatives including endpoint protection, MFA, IAM, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Manage firm-wide technology projects, cloud migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Guide AI adoption to boost productivity, research, and workflows.
  • Manage vendors, consultants, contracts, renewals, and SLAs.
  • Translate business needs into practical technology solutions and automation.
  • Oversee help desk operations and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Support professional services applications including document management and billing.
  • Assist with budgeting, policies, and long-term IT strategy.

Job description

An established professional services firm is seeking an experienced Information Technology Lead to oversee day-to-day technology operations while helping shape the firm's long-term technology strategy.

This is a highly visible leadership position that combines hands-on technical expertise, team leadership, cybersecurity, project management, and strategic planning. The IT Lead will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership while leading and developing the firm's IT team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the IT team while remaining actively involved in complex troubleshooting and technical initiatives.
  • Oversee the reliability, performance, and security of the firm's technology environment, including Microsoft 365, cloud infrastructure, servers, networking, wireless systems, workstations, mobile devices, and document management systems.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives involving endpoint protection, MFA, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Manage firm-wide technology projects, including Microsoft 365 enhancements, cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, hardware refreshes, software implementations, and office technology initiatives.
  • Help lead the firm's adoption and responsible use of AI technologies, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, research, communication, and workflow efficiency.
  • Manage technology vendors, consultants, contracts, renewals, and service levels.
  • Partner with leadership to translate business needs into practical technology solutions and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Oversee help desk operations and ensure a high level of service and timely issue resolution.
  • Support professional services applications, including document management, practice management, billing, timekeeping, litigation support, and eDiscovery platforms.
  • Assist with technology budgeting, planning, policies, and long-term IT strategy.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience with a combination of technical administration and leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, infrastructure, networking, and business applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical responsibilities.
  • Experience leading technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity and information security best practices.
  • Experience with AI technologies, implementation, and governance.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience within a professional services or legal environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Elite 3E, Intapp Time, iManage, and Litera is a plus.
