Job Description – IT Manager (with Commercialization Experience)

I. About the Company: Propedix is a biopharma and consumer health company dedicated to advancing innovative treatments in healthcare. Our flagship product, featuring our breakthrough anti-fungal and drying agent technology, is planned to launch in Q2 2025, with a pipeline of advanced OTC and Rx treatments in dermatology and health. II. Position: IT Manager

III. Position Overview: As Commercialization IT Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the IT infrastructure, systems, and technologies essential for the commercialization process, including e-commerce, sales, marketing, and customer support. You’ll ensure that systems are scalable, secure, and reliable, while supporting data analysis, reporting, and automation aligned with business objectives. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand IT needs, streamline processes, and improve efficiency throughout product launches. You’ll manage commercialization data, implement analytics tools, and develop reporting dashboards to track performance. Additionally, the role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing IT budgets. Continuous problem-solving and system improvements are key aspects, as well as providing the company IT support, where needed. It’s ideal for a tech-savvy builder with strong business acumen, and a roll-up-your-sleeves mentality.

IV. Location: Virtual, but MUST reside in Southern California. Work can be performed remotely with attendance required for zoom team meetings once a month and attendance at an all-day company meeting once a quarter.

V. Experience: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and technologies through 5-8 years of IT experience with an emphasis on commercialization. Must have experience working with Shopify, Amazon, Walmart+, TikTok Shop and/or other e-commerce platforms. Preference will be given to those with life science and OTC sector experience.

VI. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).

VII. Key Responsibilities:

• IT Infrastructure & Systems:
  • Manage and maintain the IT infrastructure, systems, and technologies required for commercialization activities (e.g., sales, marketing, customer support) across platforms like Shopify, Amazon, Walmart and TikTok shops.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure to support the commercialization process.
  • Implement and manage IT solutions for tasks like data analysis, reporting, and process automation.
• Commercialization Process Support:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, marketing, product development) to understand their IT needs during the commercialization process.
  • Identify and implement IT solutions to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Manage IT aspects of product launches, including data migration, system integration, and user training.
• Data Management & Analytics:
  • Manage and maintain commercialization data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Use data analytics to track performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and implement reporting dashboards to provide insights into commercialization performance.
• Vendor Management:
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and ensure they meet the needs of the commercialization process.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage budgets related to IT services and technologies.
• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:
  • Proactively identify and resolve IT issues that may impact the commercialization process.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve IT systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage IT budgets and resources effectively.

VIII. Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and technologies through 5+ years of commercialization IT experience.
• Strong experience with data management, analytics, and reporting tools.
• Have successfully worked with the commercialization process of e-commerce products using Shopify, Walmart+ and Amazon, with an OTC, biopharma or consumer health sectors.
• A roll-up-your-sleeves mentality - you thrive in fast-moving, scrappy environments and wear multiple hats with ease.
• Understanding of the commercialization process and the needs of different departments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into IT solutions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

X. Hours, Time Commitment: Approx 8-10 hours a week.

XI. Compensation: $3,500 - 4,000 per month fixed, depending on experience. This is an independent contractor (1099) position.

XII. Supervisor: Position will report to the Chief Executive Officer. This position will also work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and be expected to provide IT support for the rest of the ProPedix team.

Work Location: Remote, with occasional travel for quarterly company meetings.
