Job description

IT Manager – Application Development

The IT Manager-Application Development serves as a technical leader, process evangelist, and people manager for a cross‑functional team delivering multi‑platform solutions. This role combines product ownership, agile facilitation, and DevOps governance to drive secure, high‑quality releases while adhering to ISO/SOC2 standards. This manager reports directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities
  • Act as co‑product owner, collaborating with stakeholders to define vision, prioritize backlogs, and ensure solutions meet business and security requirements.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand‑ups), supporting the team to move into a state of self‑organization.
  • Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices, enforcing strict pipelines, automated testing, and audit trails for compliance.
  • Lead and mentor QA analysts, BAs, architects, and developers, fostering skill growth and accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews, resolve conflicts, and align career development with organizational goals.
  • Optimize team composition by hiring or restructuring roles to address project needs.
  • Embed security controls into all phases of development (design, coding, testing, deployment).
  • Mitigate risks by reviewing architecture decisions and third‑party integrations.
  • Review technical designs for scalability, security, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Resolve cross‑team dependencies and resource bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshoot critical issues affecting system stability or compliance.
  • Report progress and risks to executives using metrics (velocity, defect rates, compliance gaps).
  • Negotiate scope and timelines with business units while safeguarding technical integrity.
  • Escalate impediments requiring leadership intervention (e.g., budget, cross‑departmental conflicts).
Skills
  • 5+ years in IT leadership managing agile teams (QA, developers, architects) in multi‑platform environments.
  • Technical proficiency in DevOps tools (Jenkins, Gearset, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), Salesforce, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Security‑first mindset with experience implementing ISO 27001/SOC2 controls.
  • Exceptional communication for bridging technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Benefits
  • Family‑focused fun atmosphere
  • Outside vendor conveniences (car detailing, massage, chiropractor)
  • Paid maternity/paternity leave
  • 8 paid holidays (including your birthday)
  • PTO & Flex Time
  • Company events/quarterly outings
Qualifications
  • Certifications: CISSP, PMP, or ITIL for governance frameworks.
  • Salesforce architecture knowledge (Platform Developer I/II, Certified Architect).
  • Deep Agile expertise with certifications (CSM, SAFe) and hands‑on Scrum/Kanban implementation.
