About Us:

The State Medical Board of Ohio issues licenses and oversees the practice of allopathic physicians (MD), osteopathic physicians (DO), podiatric physicians (DPM), massage therapists (LMT), and various other allied health care professionals under the authority of the Medical Practices Act, Chapter 4731, Ohio Revised Code (ORC). The Medical Board continues to regulate naprapaths and mechanotherapists licensed by the Board before March 1992.

The Medical Board’s regulatory responsibilities include investigating complaints against applicants and licensees and taking disciplinary action against those who violate the public health and safety standards set by the General Assembly and the Medical Board.

What You'll Do:

The State Medical Board of Ohio is seeking an experienced Information Technologist 3 to join our IT & Facilities Support team. This person will work under general supervision and will require a working technical knowledge of the information technology lifecycle in order to effectively provide IT support and service to information system users and/or IT staff in infrastructure, software, database systems, and business process analysis, meeting Medical Board business needs and objectives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can juggle multiple tasks while demonstrating strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with Salesforce is a plus, but not required.

Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:
  • Monitors, creates, & resolves IT issues using the agency ticketing solution.
  • Provides end user support for applications, PCs, laptops, tablets, copiers & mobile devices including operating systems (OS), installed 3rd party software, in-house applications, network connectivity, profile management, performance monitoring, & overall stability.
  • Serves as backup for other IT responsibilities including, but not limited to, Salesforce administration & data administration.
  • Maintains hardware (i.e. computers, tablets, monitors, smartphones, copiers, scanners, printers, etc.). Completes setups of computers & smartphones. Manages IT onboarding & offboarding processes.
  • Maintains user accounts, group memberships, & permissions including Active Directory Users & Computers & Microsoft Identity Manager configuration.
  • Documents & maintains central repositories for troubleshooting processes, test scripts & general end user technical guides.
  • Maintains Medical Board Local Area Network (LAN) to include WIFI system.
  • Installs & maintains specialized software to include updates (e.g. Adobe, DUO, Microsoft, Visio, Airwatch, RPost, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Assists in facilities management support activities to include submitting tenant work order requests. Responds to internal & external requests in a timely manner.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for IT operations. Collaborates with end users & upper management to help identify gaps in training & to advise on policy & procedure development. Conducts IT research, collects data, & prepares reports. Creates & maintains a basic IT operation manual. Stays current regarding new technologies, standards & techniques & learns & acquires new skills as required.
  • Manages & maintains agency assets including tagging, storing, distributing, tracking, inventorying, & salvaging; assists with the annual certification of the Medical Board’s assets.
  • Assists with other miscellaneous activities related to IT projects, infrastructure, facilities, & administrative duties as defined by supervisor. Assists the Executive Director, Operations Director & other senior staff.

Qualifications

36 months of combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) including 12 months of combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; 12 months of combined work experience in multiple areas of assigned responsibility (e.g., infrastructure, database administration, software development, business process analysis) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

Pay Rates: Unless required by legislation or union contract, candidates can expect to be paid at the lowest rate in the salary range (Step 1). For this position, the employee will move to the next step in their pay range after completion of 180 days.
