Los Alamitos Unified School District is seeking an Information Systems Specialist II to support site technicians and manage cloud and directory services, including Active Directory, Google Apps for Education, and LDAP. POSITION BENEFITS

Pay increases: The first pay increase occurs after six months if the employee passes the probationary period. BASIC FUNCTION

Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology, provide support for site technicians; administer/manage Cloud and Directory Services such as Active Directory (AD), Google Apps For Education (GAFE), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), etc.; and, perform complex duties related to the installation, operation, setup, maintenance and repair of computers, audio visual equipment, peripherals, software, and computer networks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution (or equivalent as described below) in information technology, computer programming, computer science, or another technology related field. A typical equivalent/qualifying background would include five or more years’ of increasing responsible IT related experience at a multi-site enterprise level organization. A+, Microsoft MCP/MSE, Apple ACMT, Google Certified Innovator, or Cisco CCNA Certificates are desirable.

Experience

An additional five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of computer systems, networks, peripherals and related equipment.

Examination

Applications may be screened to select the most qualified candidates.The examination will consist of:A - Written job knowledge exam (30% of Total Score)B - Structured oral exam (70% of Total Score)Some classifications require you to pass a physical examination. This examination is at the district’s expense and the appointment is not assured until you have passed this examination. Applicants must attain a passing score of 70% on each part of the examination in order to be placed on the eligibility list. Candidates who pass the written and panel interview will be placed on an eligibility list valid for six (6) months.
