Job summary

Wyetech, LLC is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer - ISSO to secure complex systems for federal government contracts, ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and protect sensitive information.

Responsibilities include acting as the ISSO authority, implementing IA programs, conducting vulnerability assessments, preparing SSPs and A&A packages, and supporting risk management across contracts in Maryland and nearby states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, DoD 8570 IAM Level I or higher required.
• Five years ISSO experience on programs of similar scope and complexity.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Information Systems Security Approval Authority for systems under your control.
• Provide technical and compliance support for the organization's IA program.
• Plan, coordinate, and enforce IT security programs across systems and projects.
• Maintain the operational security posture for mission-critical information systems.
• Develop and enforce information system security policies, standards, and methodologies.
• Support day-to-day security operations, including monitoring and incident response.
• Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments to support system certification and accreditation (C&A).
• Evaluate security solutions to meet requirements for handling classified data.
• Manage system configuration, changes, and security impact assessments.
• Prepare and review key documentation: SSPs, Risk Assessments, C&A packages, SRTMs.

As a Cyber Systems Engineer - ISSO, you will play a key role in securing complex systems, ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and protecting sensitive information.

Provides support for a program, organization, system, or enclave's information assurance program. Provides support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies. Maintains operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed. Assists with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system. Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information. Performs vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation. Provides configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware. Manages changes to system and assesses the security impact of those changes. Prepares and reviews documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs). Supports security authorization activities in compliance with Agency Information System Certification and Accreditation Process (NISCAP) and DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process Agency.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

• TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly
• Five (5) years experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Experience is to include at least one (1) of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques/tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level I or higher is required.
• Four (4) years of additional experience as an ISSO may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Certifications: DoD 8570 IAM Level I or higher required.
