Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) – Active Top Secret / SCI Eligibility Required

HOW AN ISSO WILL MAKE AN IMPACT :
  1. Planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining programs, policies, and procedures to protect the integrity and confidentiality of stand-alone systems, networks, and data.
  2. Providing system security management to ensure stand-alone systems/networks are operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory guidelines and in-house policies.
  3. Administering the unit’s security training by ensuring users, operators, and managers are provided awareness training and administering refresher training as necessary.
  4. Identifying unit-unique training requirements and providing them to the Government ISSO.
  5. Preparing and assisting in the development of system/network accreditation documentation.
  6. Initiating action on re-accreditation when security changes occur.
  7. Preparing, distributing, and maintaining plans, instructions, guidance, and SOPs concerning system security.
  8. Ensuring Automated Information System (AIS) activities comply with security procedures.
  9. Developing and reviewing computer system operating instructions for security procedures.
  10. Administering and implementing the computer security program.
  11. Assisting with data transfers, reviews of medical devices, issuance of CDs, and working closely with the Government ISSO and Branch Chief to enhance the security program.
  12. Conducting risk assessments on equipment, systems/networks according to regulations and policies.
  13. Responding to AIS incidents, performing initial evaluations, beginning corrective measures, and tracking incidents.
  14. Designing, installing, maintaining, and administering AIS systems and network equipment.
  15. Performing security and vulnerability testing and applying patches and upgrades.
  16. Maintaining knowledge of equipment costs, software licensing, and personnel costs.
  17. Performing other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED :

Required Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.

Required Experience : Minimum five (5) or ten (10) years of relevant experience in DOD information systems security.

Required Technical Skills: Qualifications outlined in DoD Instruction 8570.01-M for an IAT Level II.

Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility (adjudicated within the last 3 years).

Required Skills and Abilities: Experience working with senior government and military personnel, excellent communication skills, knowledge of accreditation requirements for SCIFs and SAPFs, handling classified materials, professionalism, and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications: Military experience.

The likely salary range is $116,979 - $143,750, but actual compensation will depend on experience, location, and contractual requirements.
