Qualifications

Job description

Description

The DarkStar Group is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) with a TS/SCI clearance to join a top project in Fort Belvoir, VA. We provide an overview of the project, our company, benefits, and a $25,000 referral program.

The Project

The ISSE will perform system or network designs across multiple enclaves, including those with different data protection/classification requirements. The candidate should understand distributed architectures and cloud-based systems for big data applications. On-site work five days a week is required.

The Role
  • Create, review, and edit authorization documentation according to policy.
  • Implement RMF system accreditation processes.
  • Assess operational risks of open source and GOTS/COTS software components.
  • Use vulnerability management systems and automated security tools.
  • Collaborate with diverse audiences and facilitate information exchange.
  • Follow established processes and develop defensible ones where none exist.
  • Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and management support.
  • Recommend system-level solutions to meet security requirements.
  • Support trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  • Apply IA policies and procedures to secure networking and enclave environments.
  • Work well with others to complete tasks.
Required Skills
  • 9+ years as an ISSE with large programs and a Bachelor's degree, or 7 years with a Master's, or 13 years relevant experience with a High School diploma.
  • Experience with system accreditation processes (DIACAP, RMF).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, computer architectures, and network topologies.
  • 8570 IAT Level II compliance (e.g., Security+, SSCP, CCNA–Security, GSEC).
  • Experience with DISA STIGs, SRGs, vulnerability management, and automated security tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, with flexibility for schedule changes.
Desired Skills (Optional)
  • CISSP–ISSEP certification is highly desired.
