Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to advise the DoD on cyber risks, translate complex threats into actionable mitigation plans, and guide risk reduction across operations and engineering teams.

You will assess policies, oversee threat analysis, and craft plans of action with clear tasks, applying expertise in network defense, incident management, and threat analysis for clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Experience with SIEM.
• Experience monitoring OS security events (Windows/Linux) and networking protocols (TCP, IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, or HTTPS).
• Experience with IA security policy, including ATOs and ATCs, and cybersecurity tools and technologies such as IDS, IPS, firewalls, host-based security, or IAM.
• Experience with manual and automated vulnerability assessments for vulnerability management tools such as Nessus.
• Experience developing test plans and procedures to address the level of effort for the IT system being accredited and developing technical system requirements.
• Experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of IT resources, including Windows, Linux, VMware, and containerization products
• Knowledge of SCAP, STIG, and hardening implementation
• TS/SCI clearance
• HS diploma or GED
• IAT Level 2 or 8140 certification

Job DescriptionInformation Systems Security Engineer

The Opportunity:

In all of this \"cyber noise,\" how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is an information security risk specialist like you who can break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.

As an Information Systems Security Engineer on our team, you'll advise for the DoD, leading the discovery of their cyber risks, understanding applicable policies, and developing and implementing a mitigation plan. Your team will oversee the analysis of technical and personnel details from operations and engineers as your team reviews the entire threat landscape. Your team will then guide you through a plan of action with task breakdown.

You Have:

• Experience with SIEM

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
