Job Summary

Information Systems and Technology Analyst – Full‑time, 40 hours per week (Monday 8:00AM‑5:00PM, Tuesday 8:00AM‑5:00PM, Wednesday 8:00AM‑7:30PM, Friday 8:00AM‑1:30PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours). Location: 170 Santa Maria Ave, Pacifica, CA 94044.

Salary under FY 2025‑26: $112,836.00 – $134,520.00; FY 2026‑27: $116,220.00 – $138,552.00; FY 2027‑28: $119,712.00 – $142,716.00.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor physical and virtual network and server infrastructure including hardware, software, real‑time monitoring tools, peripherals, and devices.
  • Assist with infrastructure changes and upgrades to limit service interruptions.
  • Administer automated deployment of software and updates over the network.
  • Monitor and maintain security control of City network and server infrastructure, configure firewall rules, verify user accessibility, identify vulnerabilities, and apply security updates as needed.
  • Monitor disaster recovery and backup processes, verify backups and recoverability.
  • Ensure database security by preparing access and control policies and reviewing permissions.
  • Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor City‑wide telecommunications systems including voice and data communications infrastructure and equipment.
  • Maintain user accounts, access groups, extensions, and voicemail boxes; troubleshoot system‑wide outages.
  • Participate in systems and infrastructure conversion, installation, and maintenance projects; define requirements, methods, and end objectives in consultation with end users; coordinate project activities with IT Manager, staff, users, and vendors.
  • Maintain information on scheduled systems maintenance, including upgrades and outages.
  • Respond to and resolve user inquiries and complaints; accelerate escalation to vendor representatives as required.
  • Research and recommend new trends, vendor solutions, and technologies; implement improvements upon approval.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required; serve as a Disaster Service Worker when required.

  • Experience with physical and virtual network and server infrastructure and real‑time monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of VMware and Hyper‑V virtualization software.
  • Information security principles, including cybersecurity protocols and applications.
  • Project cycle principles and vendor relationship management.
  • Knowledge of various IT platforms, operating systems, and software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, SQL database, reporting tools).

Experience & Training
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible information systems and technology programming, computer operations, networking, or related experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Preferred certifications: Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, or a related certification.
  • California Class C driver’s license.
Physical Skills & Work Environment

Ability to work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment, operate a motor vehicle, and visit various city sites. Capable of sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, and climb; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; vision and hearing for reading and communication. Work may involve interaction with upset staff or public representatives. Environment has moderate noise, controlled temperature, and no direct exposure to hazardous substances.

Work Schedule Requirements

Full‑time commitment of 40 hours per week. Candidates must be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings, late evenings.
