Job summary

University of California, Berkeley is seeking an Information Systems Analyst 2 to ensure reliable, secure operation of instructional and administrative information systems. You will support and optimize services, lead system improvements, and collaborate with campus partners to align with university goals.

You will perform moderately complex analysis, develop scripts, and contribute to release and change management, while maintaining strong documentation and user support throughout the IT

Qualifications

• General demonstrated knowledge of several areas of IT.
• Ability to install software and troubleshoot moderately complex problems.
• Understanding of system performance monitoring and improvement actions.
• Basic knowledge of incident response procedures.
• Ability to write technical documentation clearly.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Systems Administration & Maintenance: manage operating systems, software, and access controls.
• Provide advanced Tier 2/3 technical support and root-cause analysis.
• Analyze, design and implement system changes and automate workflows.
• Support infrastructure, databases, and secure data handling.
• Plan upgrades and participate in moderate-scale technology deployments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding and knowledge-base management.
