Position Overview:
The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Justice Services is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Information Systems Analyst II. Under the direction of the Illinois State Police (ISP) Information Security Officer (ISO), this position serves as an Information Technology (IT) Security Auditor responsible for supporting statewide information security and compliance initiatives. The role assists the ISP ISO in coordinating, managing, and documenting ISP and local agency responses to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Information Technology Security (ITS) audits. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing technical information, researching compliance issues, and preparing clear, accurate documentation for internal and external communication. The position participates in the review and assessment of IT system implementations that process confidential Criminal Justice Information (CJI) to ensure adherence to state and federal security standards. Additional duties include performing technical IT tasks such as programming, database queries, and maintenance or enhancement of desktop applications that support operational needs. The role also provides support in resolving ISP Help Desk tickets related to nexTEST, CJIS Audit, CJIS Online, and other CJIS‑related systems as required. This position plays a key role in strengthening the agency’s cybersecurity posture, supporting compliance readiness, and ensuring the protection of sensitive criminal justice data across ISP and partner agencies.
