Job Title: Information Systems AdministratorDepartment: Information ServicesReports To: Information Services ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSummary:The Information Systems Administrator plays a vital role in supporting NOHN's mission and core values by ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of technology systems and infrastructure. This position maintains and supports servers, endpoints, communications systems, and enterprise technology solutions while providing technical assistance to employees and contributing to organizational projects and initiatives. The Information Systems Administrator collaborates with internal stakeholders, vendors, and Information Services team members to deliver technology solutions that support high-quality patient care and business operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Infrastructure & Systems AdministrationMaintain essential Information Services infrastructure components including operating systems, servers, security tools, email systems, desktops, laptops, software, and hardware.Perform business-critical systems administration activities and provide recommendations regarding technology maintenance, purchases, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.Assist in the management and maintenance of Active Directory/Entra ID, network switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, VPN technologies, storage systems, security appliances, and related technologies.Support authentication and access management technologies including Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, SSO, and multi-factor authentication.Contribute to the continuity, availability, and integrity of network, server, and endpoint systems across all NOHN locations.Assist in disaster recovery, business continuity, backup management, and data protection activities.Systems Support & Operational ExcellenceProvide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for software, hardware, networking, telecommunications, and infrastructure-related issues.Support the Information Services Helpdesk by responding to escalated issues, assisting with complex technical problems, and providing guidance to team members as appropriate.Maintain accurate hardware, software, licensing, and technology asset inventories.Assist with implementation, configuration, testing, and ongoing support of enterprise technology solutions.Work with third-party vendors, software providers, and medical equipment suppliers to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.Support new employee technology onboarding and provide end-user training related to assigned technologies and systems.Projects, Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementContribute to Information Services projects, upgrades, implementations, and strategic initiatives.Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, software, and services to support organizational needs.Analyze processes, technologies, and vendor solutions to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, security, reliability, and business outcomes.Collaborate with departments across the organization to implement technology solutions that improve workflows and operational effectiveness.Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources.Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, including HIPAA and information security standards.Perform additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:Education: two or more years of education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.Experience: two or more years of experience supporting information systems, technical infrastructure, systems administration, computer operations, or related technology environments required. Experience in healthcare technology environments preferred.Skills: Systems administration, Windows Server and Linux environments, virtualization technologies, network troubleshooting, Active Directory/Entra ID administration, endpoint management, technical documentation, project participation, customer service, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.Professional Certifications: A+, Net+, CCNA, and Microsoft Certifications are desirable.Language: English required; proficient knowledge of medical terminology preferred.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 30 pounds unassisted. Must be capable of prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, twisting, and reaching. Requires manual dexterity and visual ability sufficient to operate information technology equipment and tools. Ability to travel between NOHN locations as needed.Work Environment:Fast-paced healthcare environment supporting multiple clinics and departments. Frequent interaction with clinical staff, providers, leadership, vendors, and external partners.
