Job summary

Chenega MIOS in Arlington, VA is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to oversee security posture for assigned networks, ensure compliance with STIGs and RMF, and support ATO processes under FISMA. The role requires on-site presence five days a week during the initial training period of about two months, then telework one day per week.

A DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and IAT Level II are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Associate degree with 2+ years relevant experience or 4+ years experience with a high school diploma.
• IAT Level II Certification and DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for assigned network(s) ensuring STIG and IAVM compliance.
• On-site five days a week during initial training period (~2 months); telework allowed one day/week thereafter.
• Ensure adherence to FISMA policies and procedures to obtain/maintain ATO.
• Lead RMF A&A activities coordinating with ISSM, ISO, AO, and engineering/support staff.
• Provide POAM support advising CISO/AO and coordinating remediation efforts.
• Perform ConMon reviews daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly (Splunk-based with some manual checks).
• Assist with IR activities and sanitation procedures before CART Case submission to CISO.
• Identify critical/high vulnerabilities with Security Tools Team and report posture weekly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Information System Security Officer (ISSO)

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for assigned network(s) by working with the operations staff to ensure compliance with STIGs and IAVM.

• This role requires being on-site five days a week during the initial training period of approximately two months. Telework is then allowed one day per week.

• Ensuring that Stakeholders adhere to Federal Information Assurance policies and procedures to acquire and maintain an Information System's Authority to Operate (ATO) under the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) of 2002.

• Lead RMF A&A efforts, including activities within the A&A cycle and outside of the ISSO functions, work directly with ISSM, ISO, and AO, work with engineering and operations support staff to secure systems and ensure compliance, and provide oversight for existing and new POAMs.

• Provided POAM support by advising CISO/AO of changes and assisting in the coordination of efforts to remediate deficiencies and vulnerabilities.

• Responsible for performing ConMon reviews for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly checks. (Primarily completed through Splunk. A small number of manual/administrative checks.

• Assist with IR activities by verifying sanitation procedures are followed prior to submitting the CART Case to the CISO for closure.

• Work with the Security Tools Team to identify Critical / High vulnerabilities for remediation and report network security posture at weekly CISO/AO meeting.

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR

• Associates degree with 2+ years relevant experience OR

• High school diploma or GED equivalent with 4+ years relevant experience.

• 5+ years relevant experience.

• IAT Level II Certification

• DoD Top Secret Clearance is required with eligibility to obtain SCI
