Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Level 2 Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to safeguard our critical information systems and maintain a robust operational security posture. In this role, you will champion information assurance initiatives, oversee day-to-day security operations, and ensure strict compliance with federal security frameworks for processing classified information.

Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Security Operations & Policy
- Direct and execute daily security operations, including the administration of user identification and authentication mechanisms.
- Propose, implement, and rigorously enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Plan and coordinate IT security programs, working closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Senior ISSOs to maintain a healthy Information Assurance (IA) posture across the enclave.
- Conduct detailed vulnerability and risk assessments to identify threats and evaluate the effectiveness of security solutions.
- Oversee comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) for all security-relevant hardware, software, and firmware.
- Maintain meticulous records for network infrastructure (workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, switches) and track all system upgrades.
- Manage and control system modifications, carefully assessing the security impact of any proposed changes.
Compliance, Authorization & Documentation
- Drive continuous security authorization activities in strict compliance with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), ODNI, and DoD policies.
- Serve as the Approval Authority and secure Certification and Accreditation (C&A) for assigned Information Systems.
- Prepare, develop, and maintain critical compliance documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, C&A packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs).
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited university. (Note: 4 additional years of direct ISSO experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree, requiring 14 years total).
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience as an ISSO on programs and contracts of similar scope, scale, and complexity.
- Technical Expertise: Must possess hands‑on experience in at least two (2) of the following areas :
- Current security tools
- Hardware/software security implementation
- Communication protocols
- Encryption techniques and tools
Certifications Required:
- Must maintain DoD 8570 compliance with IAM Level I (Information Assurance Management) or higher.
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
Pay Range:$ 140,000-$190,000
