Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Information Services offers a 10-12 week paid summer internship hosted at our downtown Chicago campus. The IS internship provides hands-on experience for associates, undergraduates, and graduates to gain exposure to healthcare IT leadership across the Northwestern Medicine system.

Participants support clinical, operational and business teams with skills in SQL, Python, Power BI, and more while learning from experienced IT professionals in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 semesters in an Associates or undergraduate program
• The strongest candidates show superior academic performance and leadership qualities
• Interns demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and initiative
• Comfortable in complex organizations with a passion for healthcare IT

Responsibilities

• Be part of Northwestern Medicine’s mission, vision, and values while gaining real-world experience in a leading healthcare environment
• Work on meaningful IT projects and tasks that support clinical, operational, and business teams across the organization

The salary range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Required:

• Candidates must have a High School Diploma or the General Equivalent and have completed at least 2 semesters in an Associates or undergraduate program or 30 credit hours.

• Candidates must be comfortable in complex organizations and display a passion for a career in healthcare IT.

• Completion of at least the sophomore year of study.
• Prior Internship experience
• Prior work experience
