Job summary

Total Systems Technologies Corporation (TSTC) is seeking a contingent Information Systems Security Officer to support a new contract at Customs & Border Protection in Ashburn, Virginia. The ISSO will create, revise, and maintain security policies and compliance documents to enforce Information Assurance across network systems.

Applicants must have at least 4 years as an ISSO on federal systems, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience as an ISSO supporting major federal information systems/applications.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project for planning, tracking, and reporting security tasks and remediation activities.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Project Managers and Product Owners to deconflict, scope, plan, and execute continuous monitoring and security efforts.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate and drive security plan changes and improvements to maintain NIST compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, assess risks, and prioritize security tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey deadlines, risks, and remediation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge with auditing security controls
• Superior writing, communication, and critical analysis skills.
• Skilled in MS office suite
• Works independently, proactively identifies, and completes task.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, document, and maintain security policies and plans.
• Assist with assessment, development and implementation of security programs and controls.
• Review client/department information security systems and recommend improvements.
